This morning, we applaud University of Connecticut President Michael J. Hogan and Community College Chancellor Marc S. Herzog for their efforts in providing Connecticut community college students with an opportunity to succeed.
Earlier this week, Hogan and Herzog announced an agreement that will guarantee admission of community college graduates with a 3.3 or higher grade average to the UConn Business School. There already are similar agreements between the two in the liberal arts and science fields. Extending that agreement to include the business school is a good decision. An estimated 2,000 community college students transfer to the state’s flagship university annually to take advantage of many other educational program offerings, but admission to its business school is highly competitive.
